Information about membership with Tokai Japan Canada Society

Am I a member of TJCS?

Unless you have paid for a Lifetime Membership (currently 50,000 JPY) or have paid your current year's dues (5,000 JPY for a Regular Member) within the past 12 months, your membership has elapsed.

Regular TJCS Membership is based on the calendar year and runs from January 1st - December 31st of each year.

As of 2010, the TJCS has switched to a new system whereby your individual membership is valid for 1 year from the date you first join and renewed annually effective your expiry date. All members were sent membership cards in early 2010 with all memberships coming due between February and May 2010. Upon payment of 2010 dues, new cards will be issued to each member.

It is our hope that you will find value in belonging to our community and endeavor to renew your support of our organization through ongoing membership.

Not sure of your current status? Email us at membership@tjcs.jp

I haven't paid, but I receive email from TJCS.

That's very possible. You may be listed in our communications database as a "Non-Member Contact". The TJCS shares its announcements with anyone who wishes to receive them. If you currently receive our newsletter or updates, it means you have been a member in the past or you have subscribed to our listserv via our website.

I have never subscribed and I don't recall joining the TJCS !

The launch of the TJCS in November 2004 corresponded with a grand event held at the Westin Castle Hotel prior to EXPO 2005. Anyone attending that party was automatically accepted as a Regular Member until December 31, 2005.

Also, on or about July 1st of each year, the TJCS holds its annual Canada Day party at the residence of the Canada Consul to Nagoya. This is a members-only party (formerly free to TJCS members and their families). Non-members could only attend by applying for membership and paying their membership dues at the party.

If you have attended either of these events, you may receive our email correspondence.

I paid my dues and I am a member but I don't receive email from TJCS !!?!!
